Summer Sundae Weekender Name Headliners

The organizers of the ninth annual Summer Sundae weekender music festival have announced the acts that will headline in 2009. They feature excellent artists like The Charlatans,The Zutons, Be Iver and The Streets. British garage rap star MIke Skinner, AKA The Streets, will be headlining on Friday. He will be joined by Indie Gods The Charlatans, who will be marking their twentieth anniversary on the Saturday. Liverpool outfit The Zutons will be sharing top billing on the Sunday,with American singer songwriter Bon Iver.

The Summer Sundae Weekender festival will highlight, as always, new and up and coming music. There will be performances from an eclectic line up. Including folk music from Sweden’s First Aid Kit, pop art group Baddies and beatboxing MC Beardyman.

The festival runs for three days from Friday the 14th of August to Sunday the 16th.and takes place at De Montfort Hall in Leicester

This fantastic event has something to offer for all the family, providing a wealth of entertainment. It boasts other a hundred artists from the world of music, comedy, and spoken word, performing over six stages.

The site has brilliant fun facilities and activities for children. It also features fabulous food and drink outlets. All presented in an award winning ecological style that saw the festival receive the 2008 Red Kite Award for staging a carbon neutral event.

An adult ticket will cost you £92 or £99 with camping. An adult and child with camping ticket will cost you £129. An adult and child combination ticket is priced at £122. An adult with 2 Kids is priced at £152, with an additional £7 for camping.

If that were not all, there are plenty of things to do in Leicester City Centre the night before the festival opens.

There is a great evening of entertainment, comprising of music and comedy planned for the Thursday night. In the fashion of a fabulous Fringe Festival. Just like Edinburgh.
