The Rock Ness music festival has announced a contest to find the weekend’s resident DJ in the Clash Arena at this summers event.
The winning contestant will get a once in a lifetime chance to be apart of the exciting roster of artists DJing by the banks of Loch Ness.
They will be judged by an illustrious panel made up of festival director Jim King, Harri of Sub Club fame , Dave Clarke, the owner of Soma Records and Mickey McMonagle.They will preside over a shortlist of entrants. Before finalists go through a series of heats all over Scotland.
There will be try outs in Aberdeen, St. Andrews, Inverness, Glasgow and Edinburgh throughout the month of April. Then the competition winner will finally be announced in the Grand Final in Glasgow. Where the best disc spinner, along with five mates, will get to go to Rock Ness.

Entrants to the competition must submit a 30 minute CD mix of their tunes and post it along with the track listing and their details to:

The closing date for entries is Thursday 9th April 2009.
The competition winner will find them-self part of a line up including confirmed artists such as Friday headliners Placebo and The Flaming Lips. Saturday nights headlining acts Obital, Dizzee Rascal and Basement Jaxx. With The Prodigy and Biffy Clyro headlining Sunday.
The Rock Ness music festival also features acts like Radio One Djs Rob Da Bank and Zane Lowe. Along with David Gueta, Erol Alkan Rand, The Wombats and Super Furry Animals, among over100 acts that will be appearing at the event.

All ticket types are now on sale with 1 day, 2 day or 3 day tickets available, and camping available. Rock Ness also enables festival goers to park and camp directly beside the Arena.
Ticket prices:
Non camping tickets: £55 for day ticket (Friday £45), £105 for 2 day (Sat + Sun) non camping ticket, or £130 for 3 day non camping ticket.
Camping Tickets: £122 for 2 day (Sat + Sun) camping ticket, or £139 for 3 day camping ticket.
