It has been announced that excellent US act The Flaming Lips will headline the Main Stage on Friday. Along with Welsh rockers Super Furry Animals, indie band The Wombats,there will be noted dance DJs such as Rob Da bank, Zane Lowe and Pete Tong among others. It will be going on from the Friday 12th until Sunday 14th June. In the beautiful surroundings of the famous Loch Ness in Scotland.

Wed 11 Feb 2009 Fri 6 Feb 2009 Camp Bestival , the music festival dedicated to bringing back the feeling of an old fashioned family holiday camp, recently announced its long awaited line up. So, who else could they get to mark the occassion than Su Pollard. Peggy, the chalet maid from Hi De Hi. In an online video that showed just how exciting and diverse a list of artists it turned out to be. They include the brilliant UK female singer songwriter P J Harvey s only British show. They will also be a performance from US rock group Mercury Rev. The line-up features a trip back to the seventies with disco and R&b band Chic feat. Nile Rogers, and soul singer Candi Staton.There will also be a performance by Indie outfit, Bon Iver,to show the many different types of music on offer at the festival. Announcing the line-up festival organiser festival said, “We’re coming back better and more equipped for 2009. Having PJ Harvey’s only solo UK show of 2009 is just amazing,made my album of the year last year” said Rob Da Bank, event organiser.”Chic and Candi Staton are funk and soul legends and Mercury Rev are one of the all time out there rock bands.” Oher acts set to play at Lulworth Castle in Dorset include dan le sac Vs Scroobius Pip, The Cuban Brothers, Ebony Bones andBeardyman, Chase & Status featuring MC Rage & Plan B, and Drums of Death. There will also be performances by Rusko, Micachu and the Shapes,Horace Andy and Dub Asante Band. Along with Dan Black, Hockey, Imelda May, Marina and the Diamonds, and O’Death, and among many others. There will be great DJs doing sets such as Rob da Bank himself, Radio Ones Zane Lowe, with Annie Mac, Andy C & MC GQ, Aeroplane, and High Contrast to name but a few. There will be other disc jockeys on the bill, with more to be added later. Bestival does not just feature music. It also has comedy, spoken word and dance. Along with activities such as arts & crafts, spoken word, dance, jousting, andfun for kids and families. The comedy acts on te bill include `Mock The Week` starrankie Boyle (a UK Festival Exclusive), Phill Jupitus, Marcus Brigstocke, and Andre Vincent. Spoken word and literature also make a return to the festival with Scroobius Pip, Excentral Tempest, A Poem Inbetween People, Tim Clare, Neil Boorman, Richard Milward, Chris Killen, Joe Stretch, Ross Raisin, will be a few of the attractions of the Spoken word and literiature festival. There will also be a performance by English National Ballet of ‘Angelina Ballerina, River Cottage Café with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. There is also a Silent Disco and the Penguin Children’s Books Tent with a lively mixture of traditional favourites such as Peter Rabbit and Spot and The event features a real ale festival, boutique camping (available to hire now),The Sunday Times Coffee Mornings, and jousting with The Knights Of Lulworth. Tickets are vailable now, an adult weekend ticket is priced at £130, with a child ticket (aged 12 to 16) priced at £65, with children under-12 free (but require a ticket), and campervans cost £60 per vehicle. Mon 2 Feb 2009 Oxegen Music Festival has announced a batch of artists set to appear at this summers event at Punchestown Racecourse, Co Kildare, Ireland.
Where, alongside the already confirmed Kings Of Leon, the line up will also include Irish rockers The Script, Snow Patrol, the brilliant Bloc Party and the sexy Katy Perry. Over the weekend of the 10th to 12th July of 2009 (subject to licence).
