Oxegen 2008 – Lineup

Brought to you in association with Heineken, Oxegen is a music festival, held every year since 2004, at Punchestown Racecourse in County Kildare, Ireland. Formerly called Witnness, the festival began in 2000, when it had previously been sponsored by Guinness. It ran for two days to start with, but for this year, 2008, an extra date has been added. And the festival will now run for three days. To meet with public demand. Because Oxegen has always been a popular event. It has an average audience of about 80,000 people a day. With around 40,000 levellers camping on site .The remainder having travelled to County Kildare, so that they could be there. At one of Europe`s largest music festivals, promoted by MCD.

There may be festivals. such as Glastonbury, which have more status than Oxegen, but that has not prevented the promoters, from charging the same price of admission. Which is kind of fitting, considering that Oxegen and another festival, T in The Park at Balado, have almost identical lineups. With both events taking place simultaneously. Many of the artists even alternate between both festivals, going on in Scotland and Ireland, over the same weekend. An artist may perform at T in the park on a Saturday, and then repeat their set at Oxegen on the Sunday. Well,at least the punter knows what he`s getting.
