Next years Oxegen music festival in Ireland has been announced, after a spectacularly successful event in 2008.
The news has been confirmed by Oxegens promoters MCD. The 2009 festival will take place over three days, on Friday the 10th of July, Saturday the 11th of July and Sunday the 12th 2009.
Just like this year, the campsite will also open an evening early, on the Thursday, to try and combat traffic trouble.
The event is brought to you by Geoff Ellis, the mastermind behind T In The Park. And he has spoken of some of the artists which he hopes to bring to Oxegen. It is believed that Ellis is particularly keen to sign David Bowie, whom he feels he has “unfinished business with”. This is after Bowie was forced to call off his headlining appearance at The Main Stage, in 2004, due to ill health.
