It has been announced that dance outfit Orbital will be Saturday night’s headline act at The Rock Ness music festival. Which will take place on Saturday the 13th of June, by the shores of the world famous loch.

Orbital started in 1989. They had fifteen years of hits before splitting up five years ago. However, they have now re-formed. Just in time to celebrate twenty years of making music, since the release of their first single ‘Chime’.

The Hartnoll brothers will be marking the occasion by appearing at the three day music festival at Loch Ness, Scotland. Held over the weekend of Friday 12th through Saturday the 13th to Sunday 14th June 2009.

Orbital are legends and they are a great addition to the Rock Ness Saturday night line-up.”says Jim King, director of the festival. “Listening to tracks like ‘Chime’ and ‘Belfast’ in such a dramatic setting is going to be a highlight of the weekend.”

Orbital,as well as being pioneers of electronica, are famous for their incredible on stage audio-visuals. Along with their well known torch-glasses. Where, over the years, they have added a degree of innovation and improvisation to live dance music.

This will make them a fine headliner for Rock Ness.

They will be among other artists scheduled to appear at the festival. They include British hip hop star Dizzee Rascal, down to perform on Saturday. With fellow dance act The Prodigy set for Sunday.

Basement Jaxx are also due to appear, along with Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro.

Rock Ness organizers have also let it be known that, for the first time this year, they will have artists performing at the festival a day early. The Main Stage will have acts playing on Friday evening.

Where all in all, there will be other 100 performers at this years event. For line-up information. click here.
