New Festival Story

Indie legends The Charlatans will be at the centre of the circus of this year’s Isle of Wight Festival when they headline the Big Top on Sunday 14th June,

If that weren’t all , they will also curate the festival for the entire day.

The festival will be staged at Seaclose Park, Newport,on the Isle of Wight, on Friday 12th until Sunday 14th June 2009.

It is believed that The Charlatans will choose the line up for the whole of the last day of the festival.

“I am proud to have been asked to curate the Big Top’s line-up at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival on Sunday the 14th June with The Charlatans headlining the tent.” says front-man Tim Burgess,

” I have already approached quite a few impressive new bands (some you will know, some you might not). The Isle of Wight Festival is a special festival to me so all up and coming bands, be on the look out – you could be taking the stage at The Isle of Wight!”

After appearing on the bill for the reincarnation of the Festival in 2002, and again in 2004, This will be Charlatans fist appearance at The Isle Of Wight Festival in five years. They previously played in both 2002 and then two years later.

They will join Friday headliners The Prodigy who will be rocking the main stage, alongside acts like Pendulum, The Ting Tings and Basement Jaxx.

There is another batch of artists due to perform on the Saturday and Sunday due to be released very soon.

An adult ticket for the Isle of Wight festival with camping will cost £140 ,with entertainment provided in the campsite on Thursday night. It is £70 for a child ticket (12 years and under).

The price of an adult ticket without camping is £120 and £60 for children (12 years and under).

A camper van permit is £250 (all occupiers must also have a valid Camping ticket).
