The Glaswegian rock band Franz Ferdinand, whom have just brought out their hit single ‘Ulysses’,will be playing this summers Glastonbury Festival,
it has just been announced.

The band confirmed the news, along with info on upcoming tour dates, on both the official Franz Ferdinand website and their MySpace page.

They will be headlining on the Saturday.

The band are veterans of The Glastonbury Festival, having performed at The Park Stage on the Friday last year.They are expected to perform their classic hits as well as songs from their new CD ‘Tonight: Franz Ferdinand’.

The event takes place at Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset have already sold out months before the event.

It runs for five days from Wednesday 24th until Sunday 28th June 2009. However, tickets for the festival have already sold out.

There will be a second batch of tickets coming out though on Sunday 5th April 2009, at nine o’clock.
