Florence & The Machine And Roy Ayers Among Latest Acts For Camp Bestival

A whole new batch of names have been added to the line up for this summers Camp Bestival event. Included are soul legend Roy Ayers, noted folk singer Laura Marling and Critic’s Choice BRIT Award winner Florence And The Machine

They will be joining such artists as Frank Turner, Peggy Sue , VV Brown and Welsh hip hop outfit Goldie Lookin` Chain.
There will be dance music sets from famous DJs like N-Type, Balearic Brothers, Disco Bloodbath DJs.
There will also be an appearance by Monsters At Work, who will be put on a presentation of The Psychedelic Sounds of Monsterism Island with We Are Your Friends and Gregs Greats.
The comedy festival will feature stand up from the likes of television stars Phil Jupitus and Marcus Brigstocke, along with Jim Jeffries, Ian Stone, Craig Campbell, Ed Byrne and Matt Reed.
There will also be spots from Carl Donnelly,Jason John Whitehead, Maxwells Fullmooners and Tiernan Doujeb. They will be joining The Pros From Dover, Glenn Wool, Tim Fitzhigham, Al Barrie, Carrie Quinlan and Andre Vincent, among others.
A highlight of Camp Bestival will be a special screening of the cult comedy movie `This Is Spinal Tap` at Camp Bestival, to mark its twentieth birthday.
There is also entertainment for the children, with a personal appearance by CBeebies star Justin Fletcher, who will be in the fun 100 Free Things for Kids’ feature.
Festival organiser Rob da Bank commented, “Roy Ayers is simply one of the funkiest men on earth and has made some of my favourite ever records.” said DJ Rob da Bank, organiser of Camp Bestival.
“Florence and The Machine smashed Lulworth Castle apart last year and aside from trying to get off with Chuck Berry onstage she was one of the highlights so we’ve got her back! Blue Roses and Golden Silvers are colourful and kaleidoscopic new artists I’m loving and I can’t wait to shout along to Goldie Lookin’ Chain.”

Camp Bestival also plays host to a festival of reading on the ‘Book Worm’ stage, featuring poets John Beravitch, Joshua Idehen and Musa Okwonga.
There will be a performance from ventriloquist Chris Redmond, John Osboure from Aisle 16, Chris Hicks from Homework’s Chris Hicks and word artist Inua Ellams. There will also be the brilliant ‘Organised Fun’ Animal Games with literary enthusiasts Josie Curran and Joe Dunthorne.
Camp Bestival is held at Lulworth Castle in Dorset,Friday 24th to Sunday 26th July and sets out to recapture the spirit of the good old British Holiday Camp. With facilities for families,campsites, food outlets and country fare, along with many other fabulous attractions.

Tickets are available now, an adult weekend ticket is priced at £130, with a child ticket (aged 12 to 16) priced at £65, with children under-12 free (but require a ticket), and campervans cost £60 per vehicle. There is a ‘Family Weekend Camping Ticket Deal’ which offers 2 adults and up to 4 children aged 15 and under tickets with camping for £295.
An adult day ticket (16 years+) with no camping is priced at £45 per day, and a child day ticket (aged 12 to 16) is priced at £22.50, with children under-12 free (but require a ticket). There is also a ‘Family Day Ticket Deal’ (no camping) priced at £80 for 2 adults and up to 4 children aged 12 & under.
