First Acts Confirmed For Oxegen.

Those that buy tickets will then be treated to performances from some of the greatest acts in music.

Northern Ireland’s Snow Patrol will be appearing, promoting their massive selling CD ‘A Hundred Million Suns. Following being voted one of the acts that music fans most wanted to see at Oxegen. All of this on top of their forthcoming best selling dates around Ireland. Where they will play their clasic hits such as Take Back The City’, ‘Chasing Cars’ and‘Run‘.Along with songs from their new album. In a fabulous set.
It’s been a rapid rise to the top for The Script, the most successful act to emerge from Ireland in recent years. Their first singles We Cry and The Man Who Can’t Be Moved have been dominating the airwaves since their release and debut album The Script topped the Irish & UK charts. They have also just been nominated in three categories for the Meteor Ireland Music Awards 2009 including ‘Best Irish Band’. The Script are sure to generate a lot of excitement.

The Script are another act that will be playing at Oxegen. It will be something of a homecoming for the band that have followed in the footsteps of Thin Lizzy, U2 and the many other great bands that have come out of Ireland. They will be performing hits such as first singles We Cry and The Man Who Can’t Be Moved and We Cry. Best selling singles that have seem then have a hit album and be nominated for ‘Best Irish Band’ at the Meteor Ireland Music Awards 2009. As well as two other categories. Which is sure to see them being welcomed by the Oxegene crowd with open arms

There will also be another eagerly anticipated appearance, from the excellent Bloc Party. A band that have risen to become one of the highest regarded acts around. They made a big impression with their first ever CD.‘Silent Alarm. They also had great success with their latest album ‘Intimacy’. Bloc Party are also well known for their terrific live shows. Such as, in November 2007 and their memorable appearance at Phoenix Park’s Big Top.

It has also been confirmed that last years sensation, the raunchy Katy Perry, will also be appearing at Oxegen. The naughty, but stunning Miss Perry took the world by storm with her sexy single I Kissed A Girl and she is sure to set pulses races when she shows up on stage with at the festival .
