This years Glastonbury Festival announces the return of its popular Emerging Talent Competition, in 2009. Brought to you in association with Q Magazine.

The web site for competition entries has now been opened, where artists and bands whom wish to appear can upload their applications.

The Emerging talent Competition has been running at the festival for the last four years. Where artists such as Scouting For Girls and The Subways first came to attention.

This year, the 2009 Competition will have an illustrious panel of judges to preside over the entries. It will be made up of Michael and Emily Eavis, representing The Festival. With Huw Stephens from Radio One and journalists from Q Magazine.

The Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition provides unknown unsigned artists the chance to perform at a major festival, in June, as a prize. A;; an artists has to do is to upload two of their tracks for consideration.

Entrants will then be whittled down to twelve. Whom will then go on to a series of live finals set to take place in March.

The Glastonbury 2009 Festival will also introduce a new feature to the Emerging Talent Competition. Where the general public will be able to decide on which `wild card` entrant will make it on to the finals.

This act will be voted for through the web site qthemusic.com.

Where the winner will then be selected to play at the famous Queens Head onsite venue, of which Q magazine are the curaters. They will also be in the running to perform on the Pyramid or Other Stage at the festival.

The Competition is a call out to artists that are not presently signed to a major label in Great Britain and Ireland.

The closing date for entries is 26th January 2009.

Then the winner could be appearing at The Glastonbury Festival 2009, on Wednesday 24th – Sunday 28th June 2009.
