Psst; T In The Park Lineup

********************

Says Festival Director, Geoff Ellis,

“We’re delighted that the buzz surrounding T in the Park continues to grow. We strive to keep the line up fresh and exciting and continue to work with all our event partners to ensure that we offer the best festival experience possible for fans. This year will see REM, Kings of Leon, The Verve and Rage Against The Machine take to T in the Park’s 11 stages alongside some of Scotland’s top talent from The Fratellis through Biffy Clyro to newcomers, Sergeant. We look forward to welcoming the greatest audience in the world back to Balado in July and as always, I’d like to urge fans not to buy tickets from any unauthorised sources”.

George Kyle of founding partners Tennent’s Lager continued:

“We pride T in the Park as the flagship event in our music programme, which demonstrates a consistent and passionate commitment to, and support of music in Scotland, which has now spanned nearly 20 years. We can’t wait until July and to welcome you all to Balado! We are of course looking forward to seeing what the T Break Stage will offer this year. The quality of talent that comes through on an annual basis is astounding. T Break will launch at the end of this month when we will welcome artist submissions being uploaded to the T Break website, www.tbreak.co.uk.

Big news for Tinthepark Campers…

T in the Park’s inaugural event in 1994 saw just 2,000 weekend revellers camping at the Strathclyde Park site. In 2008, now in its fifteenth year, a staggering 60,000 campers will pitch-up to create Scotland’s 5th largest temporary town and, for the first time ever, organisers are delighted to be able to offer a limited number of T fans the opportunity to camp from Thursday 10th July.

Those who already have or will be purchasing a weekend with camping ticket will be contacted by Ticketmaster in due course to be offered the opportunity to upgrade their ticket to include camping from Thursday.

Friday Gets Bigger….now also the Radio 1/NME stage

Following Friday’s opening in 2007, festival organisers are again delighted to announce that the Main Arena is back on Friday 11th July. T in the Parkers will enjoy sets from artists on both the Main Stage, and now also the Radio 1/NME stage, which celebrates its fifth year outdoors in 2008. T in the Park reminds fans that only those in possession of a Weekend with Camping Ticket will have access to the festival arena on the evening of Friday 11th July.

T In The Park Ticket and Travel News….

Event tickets go on sale tomorrow (Saturday 16th February 2008) at 9am.

New this year, event and bus ticket packages will be available to buy simultaneously from Ticketmaster and those wanting to buy a ticket tomorrow should familiarise themselves with the new packages to save precious time tomorrow morning. The option to purchase a bus ticket along with the event ticket will be available to those purchasing Weekend, and Weekend with Camping tickets. What’s the official information?

Oh Most Loyal T in the Park Fan…
The line up for T in the Park 2008 will be announced to the world on Friday 15th February with tickets going on sale on Saturday 16th February at 9am.

As you know, due to the immense popularity of T in the Park, demand for the event is far greater than the number of tickets available to buy. So we’re giving all you registered users the heads up on all the info you’ll need to buy a ticket as fast as you can come Saturday 16th February.

Read the info below really carefully; there’s a lot to take in so make sure you discuss with your friends in advance exactly which tickets and options you’re going to buy – that way you’ll not waste any time when they go on sale.

————————————————————————

How to get your hands on a ticket

First and most important of all, make sure you buy your event ticket online via TICKETMASTER or by calling 08444 999 990. You’ll have heard all about the secondary ticketing market that exists; please note the event will NOT guarantee the validity of any tickets bought from the ‘secondary market’ i.e. ticket tout websites. Your experience and ours has often shown that these tickets, bought via unauthorized agents don’t always materialize – so please buy from official sources only (check the TICKETMASTER website or see the foot of this eflyer).

Secondly, make sure you’re registered with TICKETMASTER in advance of the on sale day – this will save you precious time! Please note, if you have a new credit card since the last time you bought a ticket via TICKETMASTER, you’ll need to re-register / edit your details with them.

Once again, tickets will be limited to a maximum of 2 tickets per person per credit card.

————————————————————————

What tickets are available?

T in the Park will run from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th July. You will only be able to attend on Friday night if you buy a Weekend with Camping ticket. The Combined Saturday and Sunday ticket does exactly what it says on the tin – lets you in on both Saturday and Sunday, but please note that this does not include camping or access on Friday. The Saturday day ticket and the Sunday day ticket will allow you entry on that day only.

So just to recap – there will be 4 event ticket options to choose from:

Weekend with Camping* ticket
Combined Saturday and Sunday ticket (previously called a ‘Weekend’ ticket)*
Saturday ticket
Sunday ticket

If you’re buying a Weekend with Camping ticket or the Combined Saturday and Sunday ticket, then you’ll also be asked if you want to buy your CITYLINK bus ticket at the same time – this is the most cost effective method (if you’re buying a day ticket, you’ll still be able to buy your bus ticket well in advance separately from CITYLINK).

————————————————————————

Bus Tickets

Taking the bus is absolutely the fastest, greenest and most fun way to come to the event. Bus tickets will be divided this year into 4 zones this year; this is to make buying your travel ticket easier and will help CITYLINK plan the buses to get you to and from T in the Park. It’s all part of our traffic management strategy this year to help combat the heavy traffic experienced in 2007. The CITYLINK website will publish information on the zones available ahead of T tickets going on sale, so keep checking their website next week so you can work out which zone you’ll need to buy for.

————————————————————————

Additional Information

Car Park Tickets

In a nutshell, traveling to T by car means you’re adding to the heavy traffic and increasing your own carbon footprint Green-Fad-and-the-Economy Nov-07 . If you must travel by car to T, please ensure you car share and most importantly note that YOU MUST BUY YOUR CAR PARK TICKET IN ADVANCE (these will be available from TICKETMASTER). We would advise that you purchase your Car Park ticket well advance of the festival to avoid disappointment, as spaces are limited.

Accommodation

Look out for subsequent eflyers giving further information on bespoke accommodation options.

————————————————————————

So, what are you going to do this weekend and next week? Speak to your mates, decide on all the above options for event tickets either with or without bus travel, and make sure you get your place at the event of the year!

**A limited number of tickets are allocated to the following official outlets: Tickets Scotland (Glasgow and Edinburgh), Ripping Records and Groove Records.

“T In The Park” Tickets 2008 SOLD OUT!!

Tickets for this year’s T in the Park music festival at Balado near Kinross have sold out within an hour. Music lovers queued since Thursday to get their hands on the remaining 40,000 tickets for the festival, which went on sale at 0900 GMT. Crowds of 80,000 are expected at the festival which runs from 11 to 13 July.

The first half of the tickets went on sale straight after the festival last year, and were snapped up in just 69 minutes.

Organisers said T in the Park official agents had now sold out but fans may be able to get tickets from Tickemaster TicketExchange, where people were able to buy tickets at face value last year.

For the first time festival-goers will be able to camp from the Thursday after organisers reviewed arrangements following heavy rain which caused car parks to shut and some ticket-holders to be turned away last year.

Festival Director Geoff Ellis said: “We are delighted that the buzz surrounding T in the Park continues to grow.

“We strive to keep the line-up fresh and exciting and continue to work with all our event partners to ensure that we offer the best festival experience possible for fans.”

Who’s on T IN The Park Main stage?

Festival-goers are encouraged to bring phosphate-free soap and shower gel and all contractors and staff will follow strict rules about waste water, with daily collection points. Scottish Water is also providing standpipes to ensure people can re-use plastic bottles whenever possible.

The Verve will play the main stage on the Friday night, while REM will appear there on the Sunday evening. Kings Of Leon and Rage Against The Machine have also been announced as headliners. The Kooks, Primal Scream, KT Tunstall, The Enemy and The Feeling will also perform.
