Bruce Springsteen To Headline Pyramid Stage At Glastonbury
Blurb by robertThere is news that `The Boss`Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, are set to be confirmed for Glastonbury this summer.
It will mark their debut appearance at the festival.
“I’m so pleased that Bruce Springsteen has agreed to come to Worthy Farm for the first time “ said organizer Michael Eavis, whom had apparently attended Springsteen’s 2008 gig in Cardiff. That was reportedly when they first discussed the possibility of the legendary artist coming to Glastonbury.
“He’s one of the all-time rock legends. I’m confident that this will be one of our best shows ever.”
Springsteen, known for his blue collar American rock, has sold in excess of 120 million records. It is thought that he will headline the Pyramid Stage on the Saturday, having just rocked the half time show of the Superbowl. `The Boss` is expected to treat fans to renditions of his classic hits like “I`m On Fire”, ‘Born in the USA’, and ‘Dancin in the Dark’. Alongside brand new material.
Springsteen won an Academy Award for writing the theme song of the acclaimed Tom Hanks film `Philadelphia`. Then, in 2009, he received a Golden Globe for ‘The Wrestler’ with Mickey Rourke.
The Glastonbury Festival takes place at Worthy Farm, Pilton in Somerset.
It will run for five days from Wednesday the 24th to Sunday the 28th of June 2009.
Unfortunately, tickets for the event have sold out months beforehand.
There is some good news though. A few canceled tickets are set to be made available on Sunday the 5th of April 2009 at 9am.
However, to be eligible to purchase a ticket, you first must be registered to do so.
They will cost you £175 (plus a booking fee of £5).
