It will be the first time Damon Albarn and company have played at Balado since 1999. The band will return to celebrate having got back together in 2008, and they couldn’t have picked a better place.
That’s because Blur have a long history with T in The Park. They performed at the very festival in 1994, when it still took place at Strathclyde Park and now theyre coming back.
“It’s great to have such an influential British band. When we heard there was a chance of them reforming, we were sniffing about because it was something we wanted to be part of” says Geoff Ellis, festival organiser.
“They are iconic and legends. They are one of those bands you talk about in the same breath as The Jam and The Smiths.”
They will be one of the 180 performers expected to play over 11 stages at the three-day event. They will be joining a line up which also includes Northern Irish band Snow Patrol and US artists Kings of Leon and rising star Katy Perry.
The T in the Park festival will be held at Balado, Scotland over the weekend of Friday 10th to Sunday 12th July.
However, tickets are not available as yet.
If you would like to know more about travelling or facilities at the festival, then please go to T in the Park Information (includes detailed info on camping, travel, children, food & drink, and more), or check out check out the T in the Park forums.
