Anvil To Rock Download

Veteran Canadian metal band, and subject of a recent documentary, Anvil, will rock the Download heavy metal music event this summer. In their first appearance in 27 years.

They last played at Donington Park, in Leicestershire in 1982, when featuring at the Monsters Of Rock festival. However, riding the wave of the feature length documentary film ‘Anvil! The Story Of Anvil’, they are set to return.

“After playing Donington Park in 1982, 27 years on, they’ve been invited back to play Download.” said Sacha Gervasi, the director of the film, due to come out in the spring of 2009.

Anvil will be joining Slipknot and Def Leppard, already confirmed to perform at the event. Alongside such great rocking acts as Motley Crue, Korn, The Prodigy and Whitesnake. Along with Dragonforce, Limp Bizkit and Pendulum, among others,
